Please read on for the rest of your assignment and to finish getting any information you may need.
In the previous video I talked about how it is our part aside from the Department of Natural Resources to help out. There are so many ways as citizens we can participate in horticulture. For example in our city of Estherville there is a local gardening club that helps maintain the local rock garden. More information about the rock garden can be found here. The rock garden is maintained by volunteers and the Estherville Garden Club. More information on this club can be found at the courthouse in Estherville.
You could also plant a seed of your own. One way you could do this is simply by making a hydroponics planter out of a recycled bottle. The idea behind this "self watering" container is that the water is drawn from the bottom up and is more evenly distributed. This allows the plant to grow fuller and healthier. It also is a more sustainable planter for inside of a home.
Or maybe you don't have much of an interest in horticulture. You may find that simply watering flowers at your house or a friend or family members house is all the part you want to take in it. This is also another way to be part of horticulture.
As we talked about in the above video above we are starting a new project in our class! This is a nation program put on by the company Bonnie Plants. We will be working on this project over the next several weeks. Some things we will be doing with this project is predicting how larger our cabbages will grow, measuring our cabbages, writing journal entries of our observations on what is happening with our cabbages, and at the end of the year entering someone to win the $1000 for the state of Iowa. If you win we will notify you via email or mail to let you know that you won and you will also be notified by Bonnie Plants.
Some things that are important to remember in this is that things will be dirty some days. For these days I will be sending home reminders to wear older clothes that we don't mind getting a little dirt on.

I am so very excited to start this adventure with you!
